my boyfriend needed a new trimmer, so when i saw the $5 +up reward for the conair i knew it was time to stop putting it off and buy it! without the trimmer, everything else i bought would be free.

i can't figure out how the tax was calculated on this transaction. the tax i calculated was $2.54 but i was only charged $.97. i understand that the $3/$15 may reduce the taxable amount, but not by as much as $1.58. (update: i used my $20 winter rewards which reduced the taxable amount by $20!)
